As per the Section 33(2) of the Road Transport Corporation’s act 1950 the accounts of the corporation shall be audited annually by the Comptroller & Auditor General of India or his nominee. In respect of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation, which is a Statutory Corporation, the Comptroller & Auditor General is the sole auditor. The Inspection Teams of the Government Audit inspect various Units of the MSRTC as per the guidelines and under the guidance & control of the Principal Accountant General (Commentical Audit), Mumbai. The Inspection Team Conducts Test Audit & issues inspection report on the Transaction Audit of various Units. The three central Workshops of MSRTC are covered for audit in each year, however, the other Units of the Corporation are covered biennial or triennial
